Long Term
The connections I make in the next few years, alongside the skills I develop will shape my future careers and ambitions, entirely. These years will be crucial for me in understanding my strengths, weaknesses, people I want to work with and the environment I want to work in. I do not want to plan too far ahead as this may narrow my vision, which could result in missed opportunities.
For a long time, I have had the desire to travel with work. If the circumstances are right and the decisions I make are mindful, then I may be able to achieve this. Ultimately I would like to be working as a location manager for large, well known productions. There are a number of location companies in London, which I may apply for as I will be moving back after University and is where I would like to be based.

Career Ambitions
At the beginning of my A levels I developed an interest in locations; how they are used in the film industy; the effect filming has on locations and how film can influence tourists. I carried this interest through my degree producing case studies on the subject including my dissertation.
"The power of film to motivate travellers, create new images, alter negative images, strengthen weak images, and create and place icons is recognised by many as a major factor in tourism" - Beeton 2005
These interests in addition to my love of films and travelling has inspired me to look into location management as a career path. Working alongside technical teams; styling and managing venues for events has become a real passion of mine, which I would also like to further explore after my degree.

Short Term
On completion of my degree, I want to move back to London where I will be looking for an opportunity in the form of a job or internship as a location assistant. I want to be a part of the process in which venues and locations are completely transformed. I can envisage myself doing well in this kind of position, wherein I will develop my skills and further my industry knowledge.
Alternatively, an in-house junior event manager, marketing assistant, or venue assistant are all roles I would like to look into. As I have had experience in a variety of events I believe I would fit well into any of these roles and become a valued member of the team.
However, I ultimately would like to do a ski season in Canada for 6 months, where I will look for a job in the hospitality industry as this is where my strengths lie.
