The Cornwall Business Fair is an annual event hosted at the Eden Project. The event celebrates everything about Cornish business in an inspirational, colourful and creative space. It is the centrepiece of Cornwall Business Week and is run by Cornwall Chamber of Commerce. In 2015 the event had help with organisation from Mackerel Sky Events, a Cornish events company based in Truro. The manager of Mackerel Sky recruited students from Falmouth University and Truro College to act as stewards on the day. There were over 100 business exhibitors and more than 2000 visitors. It is a vital event in the business world for networking with potential clients or partners.

My main responsibility for the morning was getting all the exhibitors to the correct place and getting them set up. For the next part of the day I was front of house collecting tickets and supplying attendees with name badges. Front of house is an important role as you must be welcoming to all guests and help in any way if they have any questions. I have been in a number of front of house roles, which have all boosted my communication skills.
